Fundación Probitas provides aid for Haitian population
Fundación Probitas, which was created in 2008 under the auspices of Grifols, has now started to operate, and as its first action has approved emergency aid for the Haitian population.
Fundación Probitas has responded to the crisis faced by the people of Haiti by approving an emergency health aid plan worth between 0.5 and 1 million euros.
The first batch of aid, consisting of intravenous serum, blood bags and other health material, will be despatched immediately, with a second to consist of various plasma products, such as albumin and specific gammaglobulins, as soon as basic services in Haiti are re-established and it becomes possible to store these supplies at the low temperatures they require.
The donation will be handled by the Spanish Agency for International Development Aid (AECID). This organization is centralizing and organizing the distribution and delivery of aid from Spain to the various NGOs operating in Haiti.
