Commitment to donors
Thanks to the generosity of the people who voluntarily donate plasma, Grifols treats hundreds of thousands of patients around the world with plasma-derived medicines – enhancing these patients’ health, well-being and quality of life.
Protecting donor health and safety is our top priority. All donations take place in highly controlled and regulated environments across our global network of centers.
Grifols donation centers support the cities and towns where they are located by creating job opportunities, stimulating the local economy and offering a variety of social initiatives for donor communities. This is further complemented by the work of our dedicated foundation, the J.A. Grifols Foundation, focused on supporting the communities where donors live through awards and grants to help address civic, social or educational needs.

Prioritizing donor safety
Safeguarding the health and safety of donors is an absolute top priority for us. Only qualified individuals in good health may donate.
All donors must provide informed consent complying with local regulations covering areas such as donation frequency, data privacy and personal data protection.
Plasma donation is performed in a highly controlled environment where regulatory agencies control all aspects of plasma and donor safety including how donors are screened and tested.
Ethical standards
Our relationship with donors is based on a deep-seated respect for human dignity and human rights. Learn more in our Plasma Donor Policy.
Grifols compensates donors in recognition of the effort and commitment involved in being a regular plasma donor.
Some donors choose to forego part or all of the compensation offered by participating in the Grifols Plasma Possibilities Program, providing donors the opportunity to support local non-profit organizations.
Caring for people
We strive to create positive social impact in local communities – both donor communities and those where we operate – and in society as a whole.
