Grifols confirms that it has voluntarily signed the EFPIA Code of Conduct

Barcelona, June 15, 2016.

Grifols released its Corporate Social Responsibility policy on May 26, 2016, via the Spanish stock exchange regulator, the CNMV, and announced its decision to voluntarily adopt the practices included in the new Code of Conduct of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), and its support for any other codes that may apply in other countries.

With respect to the information published today, Grifols, as part of its commitment to transparency, confirms that it has voluntarily signed the new EFPIA Code of Conduct on Industry Interactions with Healthcare Professionals and Healthcare Organizations, expanding its scope of application to its three divisions: Bioscience, focusing on the promotion of plasma protein therapies; Diagnostic, specializing in clinical diagnosis technology; and Hospital, which covers pharmaceutical preparations for hospital use.

Grifols will therefore publish all payments and other transfers to health professionals and health sector organizations in 33 European countries, including Spain where it is not a member of the national association, Farmaindustria. In preparation for its voluntary adoption of the Code, the company began work on the development of processes in June 2015.

Grifols applies this transparency policy in the United States as required by the regulatory body (CMS) and, in addition to Europe, also plans to implement it in countries such as Australia and Japan.
