Dr. Ester Masllorens Llinàs is a seasoned R&D and technology leader with more than 20 years of international executive experience in the pharmaceutical sector and extensive knowledge in drug development across active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and final dosage forms (FDFs). Since March 2025, she serves as SVP Global R&D at Olon S.p.A., an Italian company specializing in the development and production of chemical and biotechnological APIs, with a broad international footprint, where she holds full executive leadership responsibility for R&D strategy, innovation pipeline, and scientific operations at a global scale.

Previously, from 2022 to 2025, she served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Axplora, formed through the merger of Novasep Group and PharmaZell Group, where she contributed to organizational integration and managed multidisciplinary teams across multiple international locations, advancing innovation across core technologies and beyond. She initially joined PharmaZell as CTO in 2020, managing global R&D activities prior to the merger.

Prior to that, she served as Head of R&D at Grupo Uriach (2018–2020), a European healthcare company operating in both pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare businesses, and held various positions of increasing responsibility at Medichem S.A. (2006–2018), including Head of Technology Platforms and Analytical Development and Validation. She is also a specialist in Process Safety, with more than 14 years of experience in the field.

On the academic side, Dr. Masllorens Llinàs holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Girona (UdG), with specializations in organic and organometallic chemistry, electrochemistry and catalysis, as well as a Degree in Chemistry from the same university. She has also completed the Executive Leadership Program (PDD) at IESE Business School. She is a member of the International Business Council at the Institute of Computational Chemistry and Catalysis (IQCC) of the University of Girona since 2023, and a member of the Entrepreneurial Business Network of the Peptide Drug Hunting Consortium (PDHC) since 2025. Throughout her career, she has published various scientific papers and holds several patents.
