The Award

The Grifols Hemophilia Awareness Global Awards (GHAGA) aim to encourage healthcare providers, hemophilia treatment centers as well as hemophilia societies to submit proposals that would contribute to improving the care of hemophilia patients and their quality of life.

Participants from any country worldwide may submit a proposal in English that fulfills the aim of the program:

  • Increase the awareness of hemophilia and access to its diagnosis.
  • Offer education to hemophilia patients, families, caregivers, healthcare providers and patient advocacy groups.
  • Improve overall hemophilia patient care.

The program is a tangible contribution to the improvement of standards and benefits for patient care in hemophilia where it is not available yet, such as in countries with limited economic resources.
 

About the award

The GHAGA is a periodic award focused on encouraging healthcare providers, hemophilia treatment centers as well as hemophilia societies to submit proposals that would contribute to:

  1. Improving education (educational stays in other centers, workshops, pathology training and programs to educate patients and families).
  2. Supporting outreach (endorsing reference centers to work on better logistics or facilities, support national or local registries, helping to develop hemophilia treatment center processes).
  3. Strengthening diagnosis (helping to improve patient care and quality control in hemophilia treatment centers).
  4. Facilitating access to treatment (supporting patient and family travels, improving logistics).

The program offers four awards of €50,000 each to participants whose proposals best match the program's objectives, while meeting all the selection criteria, as assessed by a Review Committee.
